MLA was the primary sponsor of Fiber Frolic from the fair's beginnings through 2006.

The Maine Llama Association has a membership of nearly 100 lama enthusuasts and breeders, dedicated to enjoying our animals, as well as educating the public about these gentle and intelligent members of the camelid family.  The lama (with one "l") family includes four South American cousins: llamas, alpacas, llamas and guanacos.  Most of the farms in our organization own llamas, although we also have several member farms which own alpacas.

You need not own either llamas or alpacas to become a member of the Maine Llama Association.  A $10 annual membership will enable you to keep abreast of trends, issues, and upcoming events in our regional area, through a newsletter published six times a year.  Membership also entitles you to full voting privileges, and an invitation to quarterly meetings, featuring our famous and envied pot-luck lunches!
