show will be
held during the Fiber Frolic.
Participants may pre-register by contacting

until June 5th, OR by signing up in the
Administration Building at the Fiber Frolic any time
before 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 7th.
There are no fees for this event.
Animals should be up to date on rabies and deworming. Ribbons awarded
for first, second, and third places.

Class descriptions are as follows:
Class 1 – Leapin’ Lama Class
Class is open to all llamas and alpacas. Animals will be asked to jump over
a lightweight barrier beginning with a height of 12 inches from the ground.
After each animal has completed a round, the bar is raised 4 inches to a new
height and a new round begins. Each animal will be allowed to “knock down
the bar” twice before being eliminated from the competition. Winner gets to
go home and build higher fences! (Attention llama
leapers: are you going to let the alpacas win again this year?)
Class 2 – Lama Limbo Competition
This class is open to all llamas and alpacas. It is similar to the Leapin’
Lama competition, but this time the barrier will start at 48 inches from the
ground and the lama and owner will be asked to pass under the barrier. After
each
animal has completed a round, the bar is lowered 4 inches and a new round
begins. Each animal will be allowed to “knock down the bar” twice before
being eliminated from the competition. Winner gets to go home and fill in
the holes under the fences!
Class 3 – Obstacle Competition
Open to llamas and alpacas. Animals will be led through a series of
obstacles representing those found on the trail and in
public relations settings. Points are accumulated by successfully
completing all obstacles. Points are deducted for refusals and taut
leadlines. Two attempts are allowed at each obstacle.
